🍎 Maple Balsamic Caramelized Apple Parfaits

Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the apples:

  • 3 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji work great), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp Oliva di Vita’s Maple Dark Balsamic
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

For the parfait layers:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain) or mascarpone for extra decadence
  • 1 cup granola or crushed shortbread cookies
  • Optional: drizzle of honey or whipped cream for topping

Directions

  1. Cook the apples:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Sauté for 5 minutes until apples soften.
    • Stir in the Maple Dark Balsamic and cook another 3–4 minutes, until the sauce becomes syrupy and coats the apples.
  2. Assemble parfaits:
    • In glasses or bowls, layer granola (or cookie crumbs), Greek yogurt (or mascarpone), and warm balsamic apples.
    • Repeat layers if desired for a tall parfait.
  3. Finish:
    • Drizzle with extra sauce from the pan, then top with honey or whipped cream. Serve warm or chilled.

Chef’s Tip

This balsamic-apple mixture is also amazing spooned over pancakes, waffles, or vanilla ice cream for an easy but elevated dessert.
