Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the apples:
- 3 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji work great), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp Oliva di Vita’s Maple Dark Balsamic
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
For the parfait layers:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain) or mascarpone for extra decadence
- 1 cup granola or crushed shortbread cookies
- Optional: drizzle of honey or whipped cream for topping
Directions
- Cook the apples:
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Sauté for 5 minutes until apples soften.
- Stir in the Maple Dark Balsamic and cook another 3–4 minutes, until the sauce becomes syrupy and coats the apples.
- Assemble parfaits:
- In glasses or bowls, layer granola (or cookie crumbs), Greek yogurt (or mascarpone), and warm balsamic apples.
- Repeat layers if desired for a tall parfait.
- Finish:
- Drizzle with extra sauce from the pan, then top with honey or whipped cream. Serve warm or chilled.
Chef’s Tip
This balsamic-apple mixture is also amazing spooned over pancakes, waffles, or vanilla ice cream for an easy but elevated dessert.
